Abstract |
Spatial index (polygons) of airborne geophysical surveys for which digital data is held, with summary attributes including survey name, operator, contractor, processor, acquisition dates, platform and sensor. Full metadata for each survey including operations reports and actual line and gridded data available for download free from MRT's website. Many surveys have associated digital elevation data from radar altimetry. Includes magnetic, radiometric, electromagnetic and LiDAR survey data. |
Lineage Description |
Positional Accuracy: ÃÃÃñ100 metres in the worst case, generally at least an order of magnitude better. Modern data (late 1990s onwards) normally uses differential GPS, which is more accurate still. Accuracy statements for individual surveys are contained in their corresponding survey reports, which may be obtained by free download from MRT via this index.
Attribute Accuracy: Survey attributes have all been checked for consistency with actual data content. Survey data content is accurate at time of acquisition using contemporaneous industry standard acquisition, navigation and quality control techniques. Accuracy statements for individual surveys are contained in their corresponding survey reports, which may be obtained by free download from MRT via this index.
Logical Consistency: Data have been verified for consistency with all overlapping datasets and, where possible, against 1:25,000 topography.
Completeness: Surveys in the vicinity of Tasmania for which digital data is not held by MRT (generally early 1980s or older) are not represented in this data set. Data set is continuously updated as new surveys become publicly available |
