Frame based vertical aerial photography acquired from 1945 to 2012 over Tasmania to support the TASMAP mapping program by Land Tasmania,(DPIPWE).

Film based Aerial Photography has been captured over Tasmania since the mid 1930's. In 1945 a program was undertaken to capture aerial photography over the whole state. This was completed in 1951. Since then a cyclic program has been undertaken to recapture aerial photography for mapping revision purposes. The LIST Historic Aerial Photography library includes 240,000 frames of film based photography of various scales and dates until 2012 when the Department moved to digital imagery capture.

Scanning and Indexing: A program is well advanced to scan and index this library to facilitate the searching, access and viewing through the Aerial Photo Viewer. It is expected this will be complete in 2018.
