The State Road Speed Limits dataset contains posted speed zone data relating to Tasmanian State Highways and Subsidiary Roads. It reflects the State's regulatory speed limit for each section of road, correct as of May 2020. This data set does not have any legal status, and it may not correspond with the actual speed limit posted as speed limit may have changed since the date of publication. The dataset is reviewed annually at a minimum.

Speed limits are the responsibility of the Traffic Engineering Section within the Network Management Branch at State Growth and are frequently reviewed and adjusted. Part-time speed limits, such as 40 km/h School Zones & Variable Speed Zones are excluded from this dataset.

Positional Accuracy: Information is accurate to within +/- 50m of the true position 90% of the time. Attribute Accuracy: Attributes are estimated at 90% correct. Please advise if errors found. Completeness: 100% complete.
