The Crown Leases data set holds spatial areas of land under a current lease from the Crown within the State of Tasmania. These Crown Leases are administered by the Property Services Branch of the Department of Natural Resources and Environment. They are for a fixed term and provide exclusive possession of Crown Land. Crown Leases are a separate layer managed by PWS Property Services and are no longer managed as part of the LIST Cadastral Area. This may result in misalignment with the LIST Cadastral Parcels dataset

Lease information has been provided from Property Services from electronic records of all current leases. Boundaries and attributes have been determined by reference to diagrams in property files and have been positioned where possible using underlying cadastral boundaries, aerial imagery and digital topographic information. In cases where this has not been possible, lease boundaries have been positioned with references to sketches and diagrams within the property files.

Position Accuracy: Accuracy may vary as positions of many Crown Leases were initially captured from sketches and best positioned to detail however accuracy is progressively being upgraded from rectified aerial imagery. Attribute Accuracy: It is estimated that not less that 99% of all attributes are correct. Logical Consistency: Crown Leases are closed polygons and are attributed with an Agreement Id (AGR_ID) which is the identifier for a lease within the Crown Land Services CREST database. Other attributes include the Property Identifier (PID) where available. Completeness: The Crown Lease dataset is complete.
